The RemoteReadyMove project aims to build, validate and deploy a technologically, economically and societally ready Remote Operation (RO) framework as a major pillar of the future Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) system. RO allows a human operator to support an automated vehicle from a distance, by monitoring, assisting or taking over in complex situations, thereby complementing the vehicle’s operational design domain (ODD) and increasing the availability, robustness, resilience and attractiveness of CCAM services. The project applies a Societal Readiness methodology that places stakeholders’ needs and expectations at the centre, and is carried out in six pilot sites across Sweden, Germany, France, Spain and Greece, covering the transport of people and goods. By modelling the RO system-of-systems and comparing pilot results, the project generates guidelines and policy recommendations, a safety assurance framework and updates of CCAM roadmaps, enabling large-scale deployment of CCAM systems.

CERTH (through ITI and HIT) leads the Work Package on Co-Assessment & Evaluation (WP4) and acts as the project’s Evaluation Manager. It also leads the tasks on the evaluation and impact assessment framework (T1.4), the conduct of RO pilot studies and data collection (T4.2), communication and cyber security (T3.4), and data management and ethics (T8.3). In addition, CERTH implements the Thessaloniki pilot, an on-demand L4 robotaxi service with remote operation, developing an RO workstation with HMI, back-end services (V2X, cloud), a cabin monitoring and passenger safety solution, and cybersecurity services (IDS, anti-jamming, automated auditing).
