SEISMEC showcases ethical development of digital and industrial technologies through 17 pilots involving 19 companies from 14 countries across diverse industrial sectors. It promotes a human-centered approach aligned with European values, fostering inclusiveness and social innovation. The project measures success in factors like Creativity, Collaboration, and Safety, emphasizing human-centricity.

SEISMEC employs two-way engagement to empower end-users and workers, incorporating innovative methods like explainability and feedback. It aligns with Industry 5.0 by integrating plans and needs from companies and workers. The consortium, merges expertise in engineering, computer science, and social sciences to drive impactful innovation.

Pilots represent various sectors, sizes, and worker roles, allowing broad industry participation. Through cross-sector exchange, every European enterprise can benefit and contribute to SEISMEC’s goals. With strong stakeholder engagement, SEISMEC stands as a landmark effort in empowering European industry while prioritizing worker welfare and European values for global competitiveness.

As a WP leader within the SEISMEC project, ΙΤΙ-CERTH plays a key role in implementing and validating techniques to increase transparency, trust, and reciprocity in machine learning and predictive analytics. ΙΤΙ-CERTH’s focus on explainable AI methods aims to enhance understanding and acceptance of technology among end-users and workers while preserving privacy. ΙΤΙ-CERTH contributes expertise in Neurosymbolic AI, Symbolic Reasoning, and Hybrid Models to ensure the development of advanced technology solutions that align with European social and ethical values.

Additionally, ΙΤΙ-CERTH’s involvement extends to activities such as activity recognition, emotion recognition, gesture and health detection, and tracking. These capabilities enhance the human-centric nature of the technology being developed within the project, ensuring that it supports worker autonomy and safety while improving productivity and job satisfaction. Moreover, ΙΤΙ-CERTH ensures privacy measures by implementing data privacy methods that protect sensitive information without compromising the effectiveness of the technology solutions.

In collaboration with other partners, ΙΤΙ-CERTH assists in the implementation of various techniques and algorithms in the SEISMEC pilots. These include anomaly detection, quality control using machine vision, pattern recognition, and forecasting in time-series data. By leveraging its expertise and resources, ΙΤΙ-CERTH contributes to the success of the project and helps drive the adoption of human-centric technologies across European industries.
