RECITAL project aims at optimizing information access and transport in wireless autonomic networks through optimal management of wireless network resources (specifically, spectrum, energy and storage capacity). The project will deliver innovative results, algorithms and techniques on how to optimize network performance with respect to metrics like tranport capacity, latency and energy consumption.

The scientific objectives of RECITAL are as follows:

1. Radically rethink fundamental emergent macroscopic properties of wireless networked systems out of antagonistic microscopic interactions and market-driven resource transactions.

2. Devise novel and flexible methods for developing self-reasoning and self-awareness through statistical learning and dynamic feedback control, and leverage them for endowing network entities with inference capabilities in stochastic environments.

3. Deliver a solid framework for bringing self-awareness into the self-organizing control loop by enabling autonomic interaction of wireless entities and optimal real-time reaction to changes through online resource management decisions.

4. Provide a concrete framework for translating the foundational methods above into optimal spectrum, energy and storage capacity management. with the goal to optimize resource utilization efficiency and network performance.
