This project aims to highlight the artistic value of the Art of Photography, but also to contribute to the preservation, through digitization, documentation, and promotion of the collection of works of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, by the means of a Photography Open Lab that will support interaction between the public and the creators. The Open Lab will be supported by a properly designed digital hub for the promotion of artists and their works, in order to create discussion groups and allow the exchange of views and opinions. In this way, the digital hub, in addition to maintaining a collection of works of art, will be promoted as a live communication platform of its creators. In the context of the Open Lab, it will support the design of special educational and / or recreational activities to ensure a new, attractive, interactive and personalized high value cultural experience to every museum exhibition visitor. Also, the project will develop and make available to the public a virtual museum application that allows users to browse and interact with the works of art. The overall platform will be demonstrated with archival material and collections of the Museum of Photography and will be presented and evaluated at its facilities and in at least two remote locations in Greece.
