IPv_Park

Intelligent system for PhotoVoltaic PARK management
Project ID
Start Date:
23/03/2013
Duration:
26 months
Total Budget:
891,000 EUR
ITI Budget:
239,000 EUR
Scientific Responsible:

Nowadays, Photovoltaic parks are one of the most important technologies for “GREEN” energy production, continuously gaining share over all other RES. Technological progress in the field has created the conditions and the economic ground for continuous efforts on PV-Park performance maximization. The proposed IPv_Park system focuses on addressing three critical issues faced by researchers around the world a) increase park’s safety and equipment protection against outside hazards, b) development of models for preventive maintenance, c) real-time information even for remote parks with low bandwidth communication lines.

IPv_Park system ensures the achievement of three goals through:

Development of thermal image analysis algorithms for a)qualitative analysis of possible perimeter breaches, b) continuous monitoring of individual panel operation and identification of defaults

Algorithms for prediction and diagnosis of breakdown causes through an intelligent decision-making management system which incorporates Data-Mining methodologies and interfaces with maintenance management systems CMMS

Development of “local intelligence” within the PV Park and monitoring data compression

Development of an integrated system for visualizing all the above information of PV-Park operation
