The project’s primary aim is to establish a Collaborative Formation (Cluster), as a Digital Innovation Hub, strategically surrounded by industry-leading companies (including manufacturing plants and companies specializing in digitalization solutions). It is expected to lead to increased productivity and flexibility in production (agile manufacturing), as well as the digital transformation of member companies through the adoption of new technologies, ensuring their sustainability through continuous improvement of their competitiveness.

The vision of the Agile 4.0-Cluster is to combine diverse technological solutions from various domains. These solutions will be disseminated to both Cluster members and businesses across Greece, with the goal of expediting the transition towards more adaptable production methodologies. A substantial contribution to this goal is made by the technical expertise of CERTH/ITI, which offers knowledge, practical experience, and tools for the Factories of the Future. Within this context, CERTH/ITI has pioneered several innovative technological solutions, ranging from sensor systems and big data management solutions to predictive maintenance mechanisms, production process optimization models, data visualization platforms, robotic solutions, applications for circular economy s, and decision-making systems.

The objective of the Agile 4.0-Cluster is to establish an ecosystem, with services to support Agile Production initiatives within the Industry 4.0 landscape. This involves the establishment of an one-stop-shop for advanced technologies, tools, and services for Industry 4.0:
• Access to technological expertise
• Customized solutions
• Consulting services
• Skills upgrading for optimizing their production processes

To validate best practices, the creation of a building infrastructure fully accessible at every structural and functional level is essential. This infrastructure includes a showcase area for new technologies, providing companies, businesses, and organizations with a space to visit, familiarize themselves, and undergo training on emerging methods and technologies.
