Research Assistant

Vasiliki Avgikou received her diploma in Forestry from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2002. She has obtained an MSc in Applied Geography specialized in Remote Sensing and GIS applications from the Harokopeio University of Athens. She has worked for years as a Project Manager and Earth Observation Analyst in numerous European Union funded projects in the domains of ICT, land use/land cover mapping, natural resources, coastal monitoring, disaster management and security. Since September 2021 she has been employed in CERTH/ITI involved in various H2020 projects, focusing in the sector of smart cities, energy and space.
