Mr. Konstantinos Karystinakis

Research Assistant

  • Geographer from the University of Aegean with MSc's in geoinformatics (2006) and geographical analysis (2016)

For the last 15 years I have been working in projects associated with the broad spectrum of environmental applications. I am certified in project management (PMP) and in business analysis (PBA) and I have supported the role of PM for the last 11 years. As a PM, I have managed large inter-disciplinary projects stemming from, nationally, public tenders or from co-funded national or European or cross-border funding programmes and I have led large scientific and cross-functional teams.

Working on innovation projects means you need to be flexible to support different roles when and where they are needed. During the implementation of innovation projects, I have served many roles: (a) the role of the GIS analyst/specialist, providing my technical expertise in all sorts of projects, (b) the role of the PM, managing the team, controlling the progress of the project and its deliverables so as to be delivered on time, in scope and on budget with the required quality (c) the role of the Business Analyst, eliciting technical and functional requirements for IT teams based on what has been provided in the project proposal while gaining a good understanding of the SDLC and (d) the role of the Product manager, learning the market, getting feedback from end users and generating insights for product extension / improvement and thereby contributing to their innovation or commercial value.
