Mr Sotiris Karavarsamis received the BSc in Computer Science from the Department of Computer Science of the University of Ioannina (now the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UOI) in Febrary 2012. He then received the MSc degreee in Computer Science (with an emphasis on digital media, machine learning and computer vision) from the Department of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece. On March 2021, he also received the postgraduate diploma from the interdepartmental graduate study program on Complex Systems and Networks under the supervision of Professor Ioannis Antoniou. Under his supervision, he completed a thesis on community detection in directed graphs with information-theoretic algorithms. Until today, he has worked on 4 European research projects as a research assistant. He has authored or co-authored 6 research papers. His main research interests are machine learning, computer vision, deep learning and complex networks.
