Dr. Christina Tikva is a researcher in the fields of Computational Thinking, Programming Education, Educational Technology, Digital Competences and Artificial Intelligence in Education. She has been actively involved in European research projects focusing on digital citizenship, educational innovation, and AI ethics.

Dr. Tikva is currently a Researcher at the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), participating in the Horizon Europe project “Operationalizing AI Ethics for Learning and Practice: A Global Approach (AIOLIA)”. She is also involved in the Erasmus+ project “DC4Democracy – Fostering Digital Competences for Safe and Democratic Deliberations in the EU” at the University of Macedonia. In parallel, she serves as Educational Designer and Evaluator at the Institute of Educational Policy, contributing to the sub-project “Transformation and Enrichment of Digital Educational Content for Preschool and School Education”.

Dr. Tikva has contributed to teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. She has taught Systems Analysis and Design at the Department of Applied Informatics, University of Macedonia, and Computational Tools in Education at the MSc Program “Digital Applications and Innovation” of the Ionian University. She currently teaches Capstone Project courses in the Professional Postgraduate Program “Enterprise Software Systems Development” and delivers invited lectures in the MSc Program “Master in Law and Informatics” at the University of Macedonia.

Her research has been recognized with three Research Excellence Awards from the Research Committee (ELKE) of the University of Macedonia. In 2023, she received a Category A award (top 5% in Scopus rankings) for her publication on scaffolding programming games and Computational Thinking. In 2021, she received two additional research awards for highly ranked publications in Computers & Education and Thinking Skills and Creativity. Her research focuses on Computational Thinking development, programming education, AI Ethics and Digital Citizenship
