Savvas Argyropoulos was born in Chalkida, Greece, in 1981. He received the
Diploma and Ph.D degrees from the Electrical and Computer
Engineering department of the Aristotle University of
Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Hellas,
in 2004 and 2008, respectively.
During his studies he held teaching and research assistantship positions at AUTH. He was also a graduate Research Associate with the Informatics and Telematics Institute, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas. Since 2005, he has participated in several research projects funded by the EC. Dr. Argyropoulos was the co-recipient of the 2008 Biometric Research Award by the European Biometrics Forum. His research interests include distributed source coding, secure biometric authentication, video coding and transmission, pattern recognition, and multimodal signal processing and fusion.
