The Board of Directors and ITI Researchers are organising a one day scientific workshop dedicated to the memory of Maria Petrou, that is co-sponsored by the European Association for Signal Processing (www.eurasip.org). We invite Maria's collaborators together with representatives from Surrey, Imperial and CERTH-ITI for presenting related research and academic work.
Session I: Academic Achievements
Maria Petrou was a Professor at Surrey University, she then held the Chair of Signal Processing at Imperial College London, and was the Director of the Informatics and Telematics Institute at Greece's Centre for Research and Technology (CERTH)
Sessions II & III: Research Achievements
Maria Petrou developed a number of important image recognition techniques, including methods for robotic texture analysis, image comparison and 3D measurement.
