The Multimedia and Vision group in Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) (P9) has enjoyed a distinguished reputation for innovation over 10 years and its academic staff is acknowledged international figures, having won national and international awards.

The group currently develops an efficient system for accessing video on the Internet and general video databases. Specifically, hierarchical video querying, video annotation, video cataloguing and interactive navigation over distributed networks and general video databases are the core research issues addressed in this context.

QMUL will strive for co-operation with the BBC and Motorola UK to support the objectives of the Network of Excellence.
